Who else to vote for?

I particularly recommend:

Amanda Cochrane for State Senate from Caledonia County. Amanda served as president of Catamount Arts during part of my time on the Board. She is smart, well organized, and experienced managing multiple priorities. She is impressive explaining her vision to voters at gatherings and going door-to-door. Amanda will be a socially compassionate, fiscally conservative Senator in the mold of outgoing Senator Jane Kitchel.

Esther Charlestin for Governor. She may not have much chance to unseat our “most popular” Governor. But she is smart and articulate. And he has shown himself to be unrelentingly partisan this year, using fear tactics and spreading misinformation with abandon (see below). Send him a message that it’s time to stop posturing.

Becca Balint for U.S. Congress. Every time I hear Becca speak, I am more impressed that someone has articulate and no-B.S. as she is serving in Congress — for us! Let’s keep her!

Esther Charlestin, candidate for Vermont Governor.

Why does current Gov. Scott veto so many bills
instead of working with the Legislature?

Here’s the Sept 26 political campaign attack on the Legislature issued by the Governor’s office, using state-paid resources and staff (oddly not posted on the governor.vermont.gov website).
And here’s the nonpartisan Joint Fiscal Office report on the same issue (the Education Fund) that contradicts the Gov’s assertions

Caledonia-Essex State Representative District (Cal-Esx)

If you live in in St. Johnsbury, Concord or Kirby, I am one of your two State Representatives.
Frank Empsall is running for the other open seat.

St. Johnsbury is in the Caledonia Senate district, where Amanda Cochrane is running to replace long-time Senator Jane Kitchel who is retiring.

Concord and Kirby are in the Essex Senate district; there is no Democratic candidate opposing incumbent Sen. Russ Ingalls.
